Coastal Works Horseshoe Bay

Townsville City Council wishes to inform you of upcoming coastal management works scheduled to commence along the Horseshoe Bay foreshore from Wednesday, 15 October 2025, for an expected duration of two weeks, weather and tidal conditions permitting.

These works are part of Council’s ongoing commitment to environmental management and aim to address erosion impacts from earlier weather events. The project will involve reshaping sand along the most vulnerable sections of the foreshore and enhancing beach access maintenance. Council staff will also be onsite to manage any environmental impacts during the works.

• Location: Horseshoe Bay Foreshore

• Timing: From Wednesday, 15 October 2025

• Hours: 6am to 6pm, Monday to Friday (with occasional work outside these hours if required)

• Impacts: Partial beach closures, construction vehicle movement, and increased noise and vibrations
