2023 took many of our friends and loved ones.
It would be remiss not to note the passing of long time Magnetic Island resident Debbie Higgins. Deb passed aways peacefully in late October at the Townsville University Hospital after a battle with ill health for the past few years.
The Brown/Higgins family will be holding a Memorial and Celebrations of Debbie’s life in Picnic Bay early in 2024.
Debbie was 63 years of age.
Debbie led a full and colourful life, she traveled the world in her younger days, working in the hospitality industry in various countries.
A keen potter and artist, many a home on Magnetic Island has a piece of Deb’s pottery.
She had a great love of animals, especially dogs, setting up a little business caring for peoples pets when they were away.
Deb was a kind and generous soul, whose laughter filled the room. She was caring and loyal friend, who is missed by so many.
So as this year draws to a close, tonight raise a glass of cheer for our beloved ‘Higgins’ .
