THE END OF AN ERA AND THE BEGINNING OF A NEW ONE

Tomorrow sees the last day of trading for Magnetic Harbour IGA which opened its doors on the 14th July 2004, owners the Bhela Family have sold the business to Cornetts IGA.

Armi Bhela told the Community News " Since we established the business it has always been about the community, looking after the community and employing the residents.

I don't know how many families we have employed over the years. And the young people we have been able offer them their first job opportunity.

My family would like to thank our great staff over years, especially our store manager Raymond Kaddatz who has been here since day one. We would also like to thank the community of Magnetic Island for supporting us."

You will still see Sabi, Armi and their family here on the island, a few years ago they purchased a home here.

The store will close at midday tomorrow for a stocktaking, on Tuesday the doors will open as Cornetts IGA Magnetic Island. Watch this space.
