From reef to island to open ocean, SeaLink North Queensland has opened bookings for its 2026

North Queensland Adventure season, inviting travellers to plan ahead for some of the best

experiences across the region’s most spectacular marine and island environments.

With 2026 dates now confirmed for Orpheus Island Yanks Jetty day tours, the Great Barrier Reef

snorkelling experiences and the ever-popular Whale Watching season, the 2026 program offers a range of ways to experience North Queensland at its best, from secluded island beaches and

vibrant coral gardens to unforgettable wildlife encounters.

Darren Spearman, General Manager SeaLink North Queensland, said the opening of the 2026

season gives travellers the chance to lock in experiences to discover what makes the region so special.

“With our 2026 North Queensland Adventure season now open for bookings, we’re excited to

invite people to experience just how remarkable this part of the world is,” Mr Spearman said.

“From the Great Barrier Reef to the waters around Magnetic Island, these experiences showcase the natural beauty, wildlife and sense of escape that a North Queensland holiday provides without the crowds.”

2026 North Queensland Adventure Tours experiences

Orpheus Island Yanks Jetty Day Tours

The Orpheus Island Yanks Jetty season launches on Saturday 14 March 2026, with multiple

departures across autumn, winter and spring. Operating on selected Saturdays through to

late September, these tours depart from Townsville and offer a relaxed island escape, with

opportunities to swim, snorkel, explore pristine beaches, hike the trail through the island’s

rustic forest to the lookout with panoramic views, or simply slow down and take in the

natural beauty of Orpheus Island nestled within Great Barrier Reef World Heritage Area.



Great Barrier Reef Snorkelling Day Tours


Great Barrier Reef snorkelling experiences operate across the peak season with departures

available throughout the cooler months of the year (May to October). Departing from

Townsville and Magnetic Island, these tours take guests to the John Brewer Reef and the

Museum of Underwater Art (MOUA), combining vibrant marine life, art, guided interpretation

and time to explore one of the world’s most extraordinary natural icons. Cruise in comfort in

our air-conditioned catamarans and enjoy a full catered adventure. Specific snorkelling

dates vary across the season and are released progressively in line with water conditions

and demand.


 Whale Watching

Whale Watching season launches on Saturday 25 July 2026, with tours operating regularly

through late August during peak humpback migration. Departing from Townsville on

selected Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, these experiences offer front-row views of one of

nature’s most awe-inspiring spectacles, supported by expert commentary and spacious

viewing decks aboard modern catamarans.
