Townsville City Council is commencing works on the Picnic Bay Bypass Water Main Project from 18 September 2023 to improve reliability and risk management for Magnetic Island’s water system.
The works involves the construction of a 940 metre long, 375mm diameter water main along West Point Road and Yule Street, between the Cockle Bay Drive and Birt Street intersections.
Traffic control will be in place with a single lane traffic setup on West Point Road and impacts to the footpath on Yule Street and Birt Street during the works.
