Townsville Enterprise congratulates three Townsville North Queensland tourism operators on their nomination in the Queensland Tourism Awards.
Magnetic Island operators, Aquascene Charters and Big Mama Sailing and Hinchinbrook operator, Wild Hinchinbrook Adventures are finalists in State awards recognising outstanding achievement in the tourism and events industry.
Townsville Enterprise Director of Visitor Economy and Marketing, Lisa Woolfe said the Queensland Tourism Awards includes a submission, inspection program and consumer reviews and acknowledges and showcases Queensland’s finest tourism operators.
“The Queensland Tourism Awards is attended by almost 1,000 industry representatives, and to have all three operators showcased at this event, regardless of the outcome, is a wonderful achievement,” Mrs Woolfe said.
“One of our roles as Townsville North Queensland’s official Destination Management Organisation is to provide coaching and mentoring through the submission process. This is an incredibly time-consuming process for our operators who are all small, family-run businesses and we congratulate them on this effort.”
“Aquascene Charters, Big Mama Sailing and Wild Hinchinbrook Adventures consistently punch above their weight when it comes to visitor experience. Wild Hinchinbrook is an outstanding and innovative new tourism experience and both Aquascene Charters and Big Mama Sailing have achieved a 100% Best of Queensland score. A program developed by Tourism and Events Queensland to encourage operators to achieve certain benchmarks for success.”
“Wild Hinchinbrook Adventure offers Townsville North Queensland’s first fully guided experience to Hinchinbrook Island – the largest national park island on the Great Barrier Reef. Despite only recently commencing the business, expansion plans aren’t far away for more tour products from this outstanding family-run business.”
Townsville Enterprise and all three operators will attend the Queensland Tourism Awards this Friday 4 November on the Gold Coast.
