Townsville City Council is showcasing local artists through its brand new C2 Sessions launching at Townsville Civic Theatre this Friday.

Local musicians Clare Whitcombe, KC and the Moonlight Band, and Deb Candlish will take the stage to showcase their skills and provide a fun night out for all ages.

Community and Cultural Development Committee chairperson Ann-Maree Greaney said the performances this Friday were the first time Council had run C2 Sessions.

“Council is committed to growing Townsville’s support of the arts through providing opportunities for locals artists to grow and showcase their work, which is why we’re proud to launch C2 Sessions this month,” Cr Greaney said.

“Our C2 Sessions are inclusive, with all ages and abilities welcome to join the crowd to enjoy our local musicians Clare Whitcombe, KC and the Moonlight Band and Deb Candlish.

“Clare has performed across Australia, Dubai, Europe and South Korea, KC and the Moonlight Band have performed at festivals across Queensland, and Deb Candlish draws on musical inspiration from her hometown of Greensboro, North Carolina in the United States.

“We’re thrilled to be welcoming these well-seasoned performers to the stage to kick off our first ever C2 Sessions.

“C2 at Townsville Civic Theatre is the city’s premier theatre space to present local arts, which makes it the perfect location to host these music sessions.

“Tickets start at $10 and are available for purchase online from TicketShop or over the counter at our Box Office at Townsville Civic Theatre.”
