Member for Townsville Adam Baillie is seeking community imput on Radical Bay Road.
Radical Bay is one of Magnetic Island’s most iconic and treasured locations. It is valued for its natural beauty, and the unique experience it offers both locals and visitors.
I appreciate there is a lot of interest and feedback, and as a result, have released a quick survey to measure community support and understand the different perspectives.

Any ‘road’ to Radical Bay will only land people at the back of the bay, hundreds of metres from the beach. No public access pathway has ever been opened so visitors will have to cross private property to get to the beach. How is that supposed to work. What you are really being asked in this survey is do you approve the government spending millions of taxpayer dollars building a road access to a virtual gated community for the exclusive benefit of a lucky (entitled) few. What you are not being told, and likely won’t be asked, is whether Townsville ratepayers should be made to take full responsibility for this road once the state has completed the upgrade. You won’t…
