Cannabis crop located, Magnetic Island

Police have located a cannabis crop in a remote area on Magnetic Island.

On May 23, the crop of 49 mature plants were found in a national park at West Point. The mature plants have an estimated value of $122,000.

The crop was surrounded by a makeshift electric fence.

Officers from Townsville’s Major and Organised Crime are urging anyone who may have seen people behaving suspiciously in or around the national park at West Point to contact police.

The investigation is ongoing.
