Lost or stolen property – Appeal for information regarding lost/stolen property

Between September 31 and August 3, a man lost a Microsoft Surface Pro in a blue A4 size soft case at Nelly Bay. QP2101423095 refers.

Between August 21 and August 24, a woman lost a Commonwealth Debit Mastercard at Nelly Bay. QP2101567966 refers.

Between August 30 and August 31, a woman lost her wallet containing cash and identification cards at Nelly Bay. QP2101615246 refers.

Assault

Police are investigating an alleged assault that occurred at 6.10pm on August 21, at a licenced venue on Nelly Bay Road, Nelly Bay. Police allege two women assaulted another woman at the venue causing injury. QP2101557940 refers.

Magnetic Island Police are seeking witnesses to a man behaving suspiciously towards two girls on August 15.

After 4pm, a man parked his silver car on Mandalay Avenue near a pool and approached two girls, aged six and 11, who were playing nearby.

He approached the girls before an unknown man riding a bicycle rode past and enabled the two girls to run off.

The man also left the area on foot.

Anyone who has information that could identify the man, including any vision of the silver car in the area at the time.

Police are also seeking any witnesses to the incident, including the man on the bicycle, to come forward. QP2101507268 refers.

Public order offences

Police are investigating a public order offence that occurred at 5.10am on August 21, in Nelly Bay. Police allege a man acted disorderly and exposed himself at a licenced venue on Nelly Bay Road, Nelly Bay. QP2101539760 refers.

Alcohol and driving offences

On August 20, a 31-year-old overseas tourist was charged with drink driving and driving an unregistered vehicle in Picnic Bay. He will appear in the Townsville Magistrates Court on September 14. QP2101546428 refers.

On August 23, a 40-year-old Nelly Bay man was charged with unlicensed driving in Nelly Bay. He will appear in the Townsville Magistrates Court on September 28. QP2101563709 refers.

On August 23, a 34-year-old Nelly Bay man was involved in a traffic crash in Nelly Bay. Police have since issued this man infringement notices for driving whilst unlicensed and careless driving. QP2101569155 refers.

E-scooters on Magnetic Island

Infringement notices

Police have issued a number of infringement notices for people speeding, failing to comply with road signs, failing to wear seatbelts or restraining children, using mobile phones and parking offences.

The parking offences have been mostly around the Nelly Bay ferry terminal.

Police have been taking enforcement action towards vehicles parked illegally in front of the Nelly Bay shopping centre, in the barge car lane and in the no standing zone in Boulder Court.

Failing to stop at stop signs has been prevalent in Horseshoe Bay.
